Abstract
Disclosed herein are novel NOS inhibitor compounds. Also disclosed herein, are methods for treating, ameliorating, and/or reducing the severity of NOS-related cancer, or a symptom associated therewith in a subject. The compounds described herein may be administered with a particular route of delivery, dosing regimen, and dosing schedule.

A method of treating cancer in a subject which a beneficial clinical effect is achieved by reduction in neuronal nitric oxide synthase (nNOS) activity, the method comprises administering to the subject a pharmaceutical composition comprising an active agent which reduces or inhibits nNOS enzymatic activity, wherein the cancer is glioblastoma or pancreatic cancer.
A method of treating melanoma in a subject, the method comprises administering to the subject a pharmaceutical composition comprising an active agent selected from 7-nitro-indazole (7-NI), a salt of 7-NI, and/or a metal complex of 7-NI.
A method of treating cancer in a subject, the method comprises administering to the subject a pharmaceutical composition comprising an active agent selected from 7-nitro-indazole (7-NI), a salt of 7-NI, and/or a metal complex of 7-NI, wherein said cancer is glioblastoma or pancreatic cancer.
