Abstract
The present invention relates to cosmetic formulations comprising hyaluronic acids, xylitol, birch leaf extract and/or birch bark extract, and optional ingredients commonly used in cosmetic formulations. The invention also relates to non-therapeutic, cosmetic use of said formulations for increasing skin hydration and/or skin barrier function. Further, the invention relates to a non-therapeutic, cosmetic use of said formulations for upregulating skin hydration markers selected from loricrin, trichohyalin, repetin, corneodesmosin and filaggrin, preferably loricrin and trichohyalin.

A cosmetic composition comprising, as cosmetically active agents:
- hyaluronic acids;
- Nordic xylitol;
- and
- Nordic birch leaf extract and/or Nordic birch bark extract.
