A wound therapy device, comprising:
- a moisture vapor permeable cover layer configured to cover a wound area and an area of body surface adjacent the wound area at least partially enclosing the wound area;
- an absorbent layer configured to absorb wound exudate, the absorbent layer comprising superabsorbent and positioned over a foam transmission layer, wherein the absorbent layer comprises a larger peripheral border than the foam transmission layer;
- and
- a wound contact layer comprising a silicone adhesive and positioned beneath the foam transmission layer, the wound contact layer configured to overlie the wound area and the area of body surface adjacent the wound area at least partially enclosing the wound area.
