Abstract
A method and system for implanting and rereleasing an implantable device for a native valve of a patient's heart includes a delivery catheter, a clasp, and a clasp actuation line. The clasp actuation line extends from the delivery catheter and passes through an opening of the clasp. A looped end of the first clasp actuation line is releasably coupled to at least one of the delivery catheter and the implantable device.
Claims20
A system comprising:
- an implantable device having a clasp;
- a delivery catheter;
- a clasp actuation line that extends from the delivery catheter and that passes through an opening of the clasp;
- wherein a looped end portion of the clasp actuation line is releasably coupled to at least one of the delivery catheter and the implantable device;
- wherein the clasp is movable from a closed position to an open position by pulling the clasp actuation line;
- and
- wherein the clasp is configured to secure the implantable device to a native valve by moving the clasp from the open position to the closed position.
A system comprising:
- an implantable device having a first clasp and a second clasp;
- a delivery catheter;
- a first clasp actuation line that extends from the delivery catheter and that passes through an opening of the first clasp;
- wherein a first end portion of the first clasp actuation line is releasably coupled to at least one of the delivery catheter and the implantable device;
- a second clasp actuation line that extends from the delivery catheter and that passes through an opening of the second clasp;
- wherein a first end portion of the second clasp actuation line is releasably coupled to at least one of the delivery catheter and the implantable device;
- wherein the first clasp is movable from a closed position to an open position by pulling the first clasp actuation line;
- wherein the second clasp is movable from a closed position to an open position by pulling the second clasp actuation line;
- and
- wherein the first clasp and the second clasp are configured to secure the implantable device to a native valve by moving the first clasp from the open position to the closed position and moving the second clasp from the open position to the closed position.
A method of releasing a first clasp and a second clasp of an implantable device from a delivery catheter comprising:
- moving a first rod relative to the implantable device to allow a first loop of a first clasp actuation line to release from the first rod;
- moving a second rod relative to the implantable device to allow a second loop of a second clasp actuation line to release from the second rod;
- pulling the first loop of the first clasp actuation line through an opening of the first clasp;
- and
- pulling the second loop of the second clasp actuation line through an opening of the second clasp.
