Abstract
A heart valve prosthesis includes a frame and a valve body. The valve body includes a plurality of leaflets and a skirt attached to the plurality of leaflets at a leaflet-to-skirt joint. The skirt comprises a side seam extending from the leaflet-to-skirt joint towards an inflow end of the valve body. The side seam extends along a strut of the frame. The side seam extends at an angle relative to the central longitudinal axis of the valve body. The side seam extends from a lower half of the leaflet-to-skirt joint.
Claims20
A heart valve prosthesis comprising:
- a frame;
- and
- a valve body including a plurality of leaflets and a skirt attached to the plurality of leaflets at a leaflet-to-skirt joint,
- wherein the skirt comprises a side seam extending from the leaflet-to-skirt joint towards an inflow end of the valve body, wherein the side seam extends along a strut of the frame.

A heart valve prosthesis comprising:
- a frame comprising struts and nodes defining a plurality of rows of cells, the frame having a contracted delivery configuration and expanded deployed configuration, the frame being self-expanding;
- and
- a valve body including a plurality of leaflets and a skirt attached to the plurality of leaflets at a leaflet-to-skirt joint, the leaflet-to-skirt joined being curved such that the leaflet-to-skirt joint has a lower half and an upper half, the lower half being closer to an inflow end of the heart valve prosthesis than the upper half is to the inflow end of the heart valve prosthesis is to the inflow end,
- wherein the skirt comprises a side seam extending from the leaflet-to-skirt joint towards an inflow end of the valve body, wherein the side seam extends along a strut of the frame and at a non-zero angle relative to a central longitudinal axis of the valve body.
