Apparatuses and methods for endoscope laser fiber steering

An endoscopic apparatus, comprising:

• a sheath including a first tube concentrically nested within a second tube, the sheath actuable to form a bend by relative axial translation between the first tube and the second tube;
• a laser fiber disposed in the sheath and movable therein along a longitudinal axis of the sheath, the laser fiber including a distal tip;
• a lever including a first end and a second end opposite the first end, the lever pivotable about a point between the first end and the second end,
• wherein the first tube is axially translated relative to the second tube in response to adjusting an angular orientation of the lever, such that the sheath is actuated to form the bend.

A method of performing endoscopic surgery, comprising:

• providing a sheath including a first tube concentrically nested within a second tube;
• providing a laser fiber disposed in the sheath and moveable therein along a longitudinal axis of the sheath;
• providing a user interface including a lever and a base, the user interface secured to a proximal end of the sheath;
• forming a bend in the sheath by adjusting an orientation of the lever relative to the base;
• and
• transmitting energy along the laser fiber and from a distal tip of the laser fiber to an object located within an anatomical region.
