Fastener cartridge comprising non-uniform fasteners

A fastener cartridge layer, comprising:

• a plurality of first connectors configured to releasably retain the layer to a deck of a fastener cartridge, wherein the first connectors are configured to be positioned at least partially within a longitudinal row of fastener cavities defined in the deck;
• and
• a second connector configured to releasably retain the layer to the deck, wherein the second connector is configured to be positioned distal to the longitudinal row of fastener cavities, and wherein the second connector is different from the plurality of first connectors.

A fastener cartridge layer, comprising:

• a plurality of first attachment portions configured to releasably retain the layer to a deck of a fastener cartridge, wherein the first attachment portions are configured to be positioned between a proximal-most fastener cavity of a longitudinal row of fastener cavities defined in the deck and a distal-most fastener cavity of the longitudinal row of fastener cavities;
• and
• a second attachment portion configured to releasably retain the layer to the deck, wherein the second attachment portion is configured to be positioned distal to the distal-most fastener cavity, and wherein the second attachment portion and the plurality of first attachment portions comprise different geometries.

A fastener cartridge layer, comprising:

• a first connector configured to releasably retain the layer to a deck of a fastener cartridge;
• and
• a second connector configured to releasably retain the layer to the deck, wherein the second connector is different than the first connector.
