Adapter Devices, Systems, and Methods for Image Guided Surgery

An adapter for coupling an image guidance sensor to a surgical instrument, comprising:

• a clamp frame comprising an upper portion, a lower portion, and a bridge portion between the upper portion and the lower portion, wherein the clamp frame defines a frame cavity between the upper portion and the lower portion, wherein the lower portion of the clamp frame defines a lower jaw;
• a screw that is threadably coupled to the upper portion of the clamp frame;
• and
• an upper jaw that is disposed in the frame cavity of the clamp frame and coupled to the screw, wherein the upper jaw and the lower jaw define a jaw space for receiving the surgical instrument between the upper jaw and the lower jaw, wherein the frame cavity of the clamp frame provides access to the jaw space, wherein the screw is configured to move upper jaw relative to the lower jaw to adjust a size of the jaw space between the upper jaw and the lower jaw;
• and
• an image guidance sensor that is configured to generate a signal that is indicative of a position of the image guidance sensor responsive to an electromagnetic field generated by a field generator.
