Abstract
Systems, apparatus, articles of manufacture, and methods are disclosed to detect a pace pulse in an electrocardiogram (ECG) signal. An example apparatus includes programmable circuitry configured to execute instructions to: identify a leading edge of a pulse in an input signal based on an amplitude change; identify a transition time of the leading edge of the pulse; validate the leading edge of the pulse based on the amplitude change and transition time; identify a trailing edge of the pulse; determine a width of the pulse between the leading edge and the trailing edge; and validate the pulse based on the width.

An apparatus, comprising:
- pace pulse detection circuitry configurable to:
- receive a cardiac signal;
- detect a leading edge and a trailing edge in the cardiac signal;
- determine a width between the leading edge and the trailing edge;
- validate that the leading edge and the trailing edge correspond to a valid pulse based on the width between the leading edge and the trailing edge;
- after validating that the leading edge and the trailing edge correspond to the valid pulse, suspend detection of a next edge of the cardiac signal during a first time window;
- and
- cause transmission of data corresponding to the valid pulse.
A method, comprising:
- receiving, by pace pulse detection circuitry of a device, a cardiac signal;
- detecting, by the pace pulse detection circuitry, a leading edge and a trailing edge in the cardiac signal;
- determining, by the pace pulse detection circuitry, a width between the leading edge and the trailing edge;
- validating, by the pace pulse detection circuitry, that the leading edge and the trailing edge correspond to a valid pulse based on the width between the leading edge and the trailing edge;
- after validating that the leading edge and the trailing edge correspond to the valid pulse, suspending, by the pace pulse detection circuitry, detection of a next edge of the cardiac signal during a first time window;
- and
- transmitting, by the device, data corresponding to the valid pulse.
