Abstract
A cabinetry handle assembly for providing a structure for a user to open a cabinet, a drawer, or the like includes a body with a label slot which is viewable from a front side of the body and a mounting slot which is open on a back side of the body. A plaque is positionable in the label slot such that a front face of the plaque is viewable from in front of the body. One or more mounting assemblies may be adjustably positioned in the mounting slot to align with mounting holes in a cabinet door, a drawer, or other suitable support structure and mount the body to the same. When mounted to a support structure, the mounting assemblies space the body away from the support structure such that at least part of a user's hand may reach between the body and the support structure to grasp the body.
Claims15
A cabinetry handle assembly comprising:
- a body having a first end and a second end, a front side and a back side of the body extending between the first end and the second end, a top side and a bottom side of the body extending between the first end and the second end and between the front side and the back side, the body defining a label slot which extends from the first end to the second end, the label slot being viewable from in front of the body, the body defining a mounting slot which extends from the first end the second end, the mounting slot being open at the back side of the body;
- a plaque which is positionable in a use position in which the plaque is positioned in the label slot, a front face of the plaque being viewable from in front of the body when the plaque is positioned in the use position;
- and
- a mounting assembly which is couplable to the body via the mounting slot, the mounting assembly being slidable along the mounting slot when the mounting assembly is coupled to the body, the mounting assembly being configured to mount the body to a wall support and space the body from the wall support.
A cabinetry handle assembly comprising:
- a body having a first end and a second end, a front side and a back side of the body extending between the first end and the second end, a top side and a bottom side of the body extending between the first end and the second end and between the front side and the back side, the body defining a label slot which extends from the first end to the second end, the label slot being open at the front side of the body, the label slot having a T-shaped cross-section wherein a height of a front portion of the label slot is less than a height of a back portion of the label slot, the body defining a mounting slot which extends from the first end the second end, the mounting slot being open at the back side of the body, the mounting slot having a T-shaped cross-section wherein a height of a back section of the mounting slot is less than a height of a front section of the mounting slot, the body comprising a ferromagnetic material, the body being elongated between the first end and the second end;
- a plurality of plaques, the plurality of plaques being interchangeably positionable in a use position in which the plaque is positioned in the label slot, a front face of each plaque being viewable through the front portion of the label slot when the plaque is positioned in the use position, each plaque of the plurality of plaques comprising labeling indicia at the front face of the plaque, a height of each plaque being greater than the height of the front portion of the label slot, each plaque of the plurality of plaques comprising a magnet material which is configured to magnetically adhere to the body;
- and
- a pair of mounting assemblies, each mounting assembly of the pair of mounting assemblies being couplable to the body via the mounting slot, each mounting assembly of the pair of mounting assemblies being slidable along the mounting slot when the mounting assembly is coupled to the body, each mounting assembly of the pair of mounting assemblies comprising:
- a spacer comprising a head and a shaft, the shaft being coupled to and extending away from the head, the head being insertable into the front section of the mounting slot, a height of the head of the spacer being greater than a height of the back section of the mounting slot, the shaft of the spacer defining a threaded bore which is open at a distal end of the shaft with respect to the head, the shaft having an externally threaded portion, the externally threaded portion of the shaft being spaced from the distal end of the shaft, the shaft having a smooth portion which extends between the externally threaded portion and the distal end of the shaft, the smooth portion having a smooth outer surface;
- a screw which is threadingly engageable with the threaded bore of the shaft of the spacer;
- and
- a nut which is threadingly engageable with the externally threaded portion of the shaft of the spacer to clamp the body between the nut and the head of the spacer.
