Abstract
A suction head includes a main body; a rotating brush housed in the main body and having a brush body configured to be driven in rotation in a predetermined direction of rotation and about an axis of rotation, a row of bristles provided on an outer peripheral surface of the brush body, and a cleaning blade provided on the outer peripheral surface of the brush body. The cleaning blade is angularly offset from the row of bristles relative to a central longitudinal axis of the brush body by an offset angle and is located at the rear of the row of bristles relative to the predetermined direction of rotation of the brush body.
Claims12
A suction head comprising:
- a main body comprising a lower face configured to be oriented towards a surface to be cleaned and a suction mouth opening into the lower face of the main body, the main body delimiting a suction chamber fluidly connected to the suction mouth,
- a rotating brush housed in the suction chamber, the rotating brush comprising:
- a brush body having a central longitudinal axis and configured to be driven in rotation in a predetermined direction of rotation and about an axis of rotation substantially coaxial with the central longitudinal axis of the brush body,
- a row of bristles provided on an outer peripheral surface of the brush body and extending over at least a part of a length of the brush body, and
- a cleaning blade provided on an outer peripheral surface of the brush body and extending over at least a part of the length of the brush body, wherein the cleaning blade is angularly offset from the row of bristles relative to the central longitudinal axis of the brush body by an offset angle and is located at a rear of the row of bristles relative to the predetermined direction of rotation of the brush body, and
- a rotation drive device configured to rotate the brush body about the axis of rotation,
- wherein the rotating brush comprises a brush diameter of between 0.03 and 0.08 m, wherein the rotation drive device is configured to rotate the brush body at a predetermined rotation speed of between 2000 and 8000 rpm, and wherein a ratio of the offset angle, expressed in degrees, to a tangential speed, expressed in m·s−1, at free ends of the bristles of the row of bristles when the brush body rotates at the predetermined rotation speed is between 2.5 and 3.5.
A method for controlling a suction head comprising the steps of:
- providing a suction head comprising:
- a main body comprising a lower face configured to be oriented towards a surface to be cleaned and a suction mouth opening into the lower face of the main body, the main body delimiting a suction chamber fluidly connected to the suction mouth,
- a rotating brush housed in the suction chamber, the rotating brush comprising a brush diameter of between 0.03 and 0.08 m, and comprising a brush body having a central longitudinal axis and configured to rotate in a predetermined direction of rotation and about an axis of rotation substantially coaxial with the central longitudinal axis of the brush body, a row of bristles provided on an outer peripheral surface of the brush body and extending over at least a part of a length of the brush body, and a cleaning blade provided on an outer peripheral surface of the brush body and extending over at least a part of the length of the brush body, wherein the cleaning blade is angularly offset from the row of bristles relative to the central longitudinal axis of the brush body by an offset angle and is located at a rear of the row of bristles relative to the predetermined direction of rotation of the brush body, and
- a rotation drive device configured to rotate the brush body about the axis of rotation;
- and
- rotating the brush body at a predetermined rotation speed of between 2000 and 8000 rpm, wherein the brush diameter and the predetermined rotation speed are configured so that a ratio of the offset angle, expressed in degrees, to a tangential speed at free ends of the bristles of the row of bristles, expressed in m·s−1, is between 2.5 and 3.5.
