Abstract
A hair grooming device configured to prevent ingrown hairs and exfoliate the skin, equipped with a frame, acting as a grip or handle, which maintains positioning of a first nylon strand and a second nylon strand approximately ¼ inch apart. The frame is comfortable to hold, and is preferably used with three fingers and a thumb to drag the strands across the surface of the skin. As the strands move, they are rolled along the skin, causing them to twist. As they twist, hair follicles become trapped, allowing a light tension to be applied to the hairs, pulling them up and away from the surface of the skin. This tension applied to the hair(s) ensures that they curl out and away from the surface of the skin, preventing ingrown hairs which are often grown on the face or in the pubic area of a user.
Claims12
A body surface grooming device comprising:
- a frame configured to be grasped by a user;
- a first flexible strand coupled to the frame;
- a second flexible strand coupled to the frame and positioned adjacent to the first flexible strand;
- wherein the first flexible strand and the second flexible strand are spaced apart and maintained under tension by the frame;
- and
- wherein movement of the device across a skin surface causes the first flexible strand and the second flexible strand to twist together such that one or more hairs are captured between the strands and lifted away from the skin surface.
A method of grooming body hair comprising:
- providing a grooming device having a frame and at least two flexible strands disposed in tension;
- grasping the frame of the grooming device;
- moving the strands across a skin surface containing hair;
- twisting the strands together during movement across the skin surface;
- capturing one or more hairs between the twisted strands;
- and
- lifting the one or more hairs away from the skin surface while simultaneously exfoliating the skin.
