Abstract
An aerosol-generating system is provided in an unlocked state, in which the aerosol-generating system is enabled to generate aerosol, the aerosol-generating system being configured to determine whether at least one unlocking condition is fulfilled, and maintain the aerosol-generating system in the unlocked state upon confirming that the at least one unlocking condition is met.

An aerosol-generating system in an unlocked state, in which the aerosol-generating system is enabled to generate aerosol, the aerosol-generating system being configured to:
- determine whether at least one unlocking condition is fulfilled, and
- maintain the aerosol-generating system in the unlocked state upon confirming that the at least one unlocking condition is met.
A method of operating a computing device, comprising:
- generating a cyphered value by applying a cypher function to a clear value;
- and
- authorizing a user of an aerosol-generating system to operate the aerosol-generating system based on transmitting the cyphered value to the aerosol-generating system.
