Personal vaporizers with isolated wick structures

A personal vaporizer comprising:

• a wick cartridge comprising:
• a cylindrical wick casing having at least one wick casing window formed therethrough;
• an annular wick body disposed within the cylindrical wick casing, the annular wick body having an inner cylindrical surface and an outer cylindrical surface and being configured for receiving vaporizable fluid through the outer cylindrical surface and conducting it through the cylindrical wick body to the inner cylindrical surface;
• and
• a heating element at least partially disposed within the annular wick body so that at least a portion of the heating element is in contact with or adjacent the inner cylindrical surface of the annular wick body;
• a main vaporizer body having a main body wall defining a main body interior and having a longitudinal axis;
• a vaporization chamber within the main body interior, the vaporization chamber being defined by a cylindrical vaporization chamber wall surrounding the longitudinal axis and having at least one fluid flow window formed therethrough, the vaporization chamber being configured for receiving the wick cartridge so that the at least one fluid window is in registration with the at least one wick casing window when the wick cartridge is fully received into an installed position within the vaporization chamber;
• a fluid reservoir surrounding at least a portion of the vaporization chamber and configured for storage of a vaporizable liquid therein, the fluid reservoir being in fluid communication with the at least one fluid flow window;
• and
• a plug member for each of the at least one fluid flow window, each plug member being positioned at least partially within its respective fluid flow window and extending into the vaporization chamber and being configured to prevent fluid flow through its respective fluid flow window until the wick cartridge has been received into the vaporization chamber.
