Abstract
There is disclosed an aerosol generating system comprising an aerosol generating consumable having an end closed by a foil membrane and an aerosol generating device configured with a heater arranged at a distal end of a cavity for receiving the consumable. By closing the end so that the aerosol generating portion is not exposed to a distal end, advantageously, a consumable is provided that reduces the risk or likelihood of aerosol generating material from falling out or being pulled out from the consumable in use or during transportation and/or during the production process. Furthermore, by closing the end with foil in combination with an infrared heater arranged at a distal end of the cavity, it is thought an improved infrared heating of the consumable can be achieved.
Claims15
An aerosol generating system comprising an aerosol generating consumable (100) and an aerosol generating device (200),
- the consumable (100) comprising a closed end having a metal membrane (135);
- wherein the metal membrane (135) is formed across and closing a distal end of the consumable (100), or
- wherein the metal membrane (135) is arranged adjacent to or in the vicinity of the distal end of the consumable (100);
- and
- the device (200) includes a cavity (210) for receiving the consumable, wherein the cavity has a closed end and the closed end comprises a heater, for example an infrared heater.
A consumable (100) for an aerosol generating apparatus, comprising a closed end comprising a metal membrane (135)
- wherein the metal membrane (135) is formed across and closing a distal end of the consumable (100), or
- is arranged adjacent to or in the vicinity of the distal end of the consumable (100),
- wherein the metal membrane (135) is a metal mesh.
