There is disclosed a Heated Tobacco (HT) consumable (100) wherein an end of the aerosol-generating substrate (110) is closed by applying and curing a liquid to the distal end face (114) of the aerosol generating substrate (110). By closing the end so that the tobacco portion (110) is not exposed to a distal end, advantageously, a consumable (100) is provided that reduces the risk or likelihood of tobacco from falling out or being pulled out from the consumable in use or during transportation and I or during the production process. There is therefore provided a consumable (100) having an aerosol-generating substrate (110) with an end face (114) partially covered by a cured liquid as well as a method of applying a liquid to a portion of an end face (114) of an aerosol-generating substrate (110) and subsequently curing the liquid.
A method of manufacturing a heated tobacco consumable comprising an aerosol-generating substrate having an end face, the method comprising the steps of applying a liquid to a portion of the end face and curing the liquid.
the method of any of claims 1 to 4, wherein the method comprises the step of, subsequent to applying the liquid pressing a perforated membrane to the liquid, wherein the liquid is a glue that adheres the perforated membrane to portions of the end face 6. The method of any of claims 5, wherein the method comprises the steps of:
A heated tobacco consumable, comprising an aerosol-generating substrate having an end face, wherein the end face is at least partially closed by applying and curing a liquid to a portion of the end face.
