Abstract
New and distinctive Pentas parent lines are disclosed. The Pentas “Graffiti® Falls” parent lines have a gravitropic growth habit. The Pentas “Northern Lights®” parent lines have distinctive and bright flower colors. Exemplary parent line varieties are provided for both parent line groups. The present disclosure further relates to methods of using Pentas “Graffiti® Falls” parent lines and Pentas “Northern Lights®” parent lines for producing Pentas hybrids.

A Pentas parent line plant comprising:
- (a) an gravitropic growth habit;
- (b) a branch shoot length of about 1 cm to about 5.5 cm;
- (c) a leaf width of about 3 cm to about 8 cm;
- (d) a flower corolla diameter of about 1.6 cm to about 2.4 cm;
- and
- (e) a stem color selected from the group consisting of RHS 143A, RHS 143B, and RHS 143C.

A method of producing a seed of a Pentas parent line-derived plant, comprising:
- (a) crossing a first Pentas parent line plant with a second Pentas parent line plant, the first Pentas plant comprising:
- (i) an gravitropic growth habit;
- (ii) a branch shoot length of about 1 cm to about 5.5 cm;
- (iii) a leaf width of about 3 cm to about 8 cm;
- (iv) a flower corolla diameter of about 1.6 cm to about 2.4 cm;
- and
- (v) a stem color selected from the group consisting of RHS 143A, RHS 143B, and RHS 143C,
- whereby seed of a Pentas parent line-derived plant forms.

- (a) a flower color characteristic selected from the group consisting of RHS 56A (Light pink), RHS N57D (Dark pink), RHS 58A (Purple), RHS 61D (Dark pink), RHS 63B (Pink), RHS 64D (Pink), RHS 65B (Light pink), RHS 70B (Pink purple), RHS 72B (Pink purple), RHS N74C (Pink purple), RHS 75C (Pink violet), RHS 75D (Pink violet), RHS 76B (Light violet), RHS 77A (Dark pink violet), or RHS N79C (Purple);
- and
- (b) a branch shoot length of about 1 cm to about 6.5 cm.
