The present disclosure relates to a multi-level system-in-package (SIP) module featuring at least one laminate passive structure designed to provide stand-off relative to a module substrate for enhanced performance and/or a reduced footprint, and a process for manufacturing the same. In the disclosed multi-level SIP module, the laminate passive structure is attached to a top side of the module substrate and includes a component unit and multiple copper posts. The component unit has at least a laminate body, a bottom metal layer protruding vertically from a bottom surface of the laminate body, and a top metal layer embedded in the laminate body and configured to provide at least a portion of a passive component. The copper posts are connected to the bottom metal layer and extend towards the top side of the module substrate, which provides a stand-off space vertically between the component unit and the module substrate.
