A synaptic device and a synaptic device array. The synaptic device includes a first electrode, a second electrode, and a topological insulator operably coupled between the first electrode and the second electrode. The topological insulator may be a quantum topological insulator. The synaptic device array includes multiple ones of the synaptic device.
