A light detection element includes a first magnetic element and a second magnetic element, a first lens that irradiates incident light to the first magnetic element, and a second lens that irradiates incident light to the second magnetic element. The first lens and the second lens are made of metalenses having a plurality of nanostructures arranged two-dimensionally. In order to make the phases at the focal points of the first lens and the second lens different from each other, the size of the plurality of nanostructures in the first lens decreases as the distance from the optical center of the first lens increases in a predetermined region determined according to the distance from the optical center, and the size of the plurality of nanostructures in the second lens decreases as the distance from the optical center increases in a predetermined region determined according to the distance from the optical center.
