Abstract
According to one embodiment, a display device includes a substrate, a circuit layer including conductive layers and inorganic insulating layers that constitute a pixel circuit, a first organic insulating layer above the circuit layer, a rib layer above the first organic insulating layer and having a pixel aperture, a display element overlapping the pixel aperture, and a partition above the rib layer and having an overhang shape surrounding the display element. Further, a first area is formed along an end portion of the substrate, and at least one of the plurality of inorganic insulating layers are removed in the first area.
Claims20
A display device, comprising:
- a substrate;
- a circuit layer provided above the substrate and including a plurality of conductive layers and a plurality of inorganic insulating layers that constitute a pixel circuit configured to drive a pixel in a display area;
- a first organic insulating layer provided above the circuit layer;
- a rib layer provided above the first organic insulating layer and having a pixel aperture in the pixel;
- a display element overlapping the pixel aperture;
- and
- a partition provided above the rib layer and having an overhang shape surrounding the display element, wherein
- a first area in which at least one of the plurality of inorganic insulating layers are removed is formed along an end portion of the substrate.
A manufacturing method of a display device comprising:
- forming above a substrate a circuit layer including a plurality of conductive layers and a plurality of inorganic insulating layers that constitute a pixel circuit configured to drive a pixel in a display area;
- removing at least one of the plurality of inorganic insulating layers in a first area along a cut line for cutting out a panel portion including the display area from the substrate;
- forming a first organic insulating layer above the circuit layer;
- forming a rib layer provided above the first organic insulating layer and having a pixel aperture in the pixel;
- forming above the rib layer a partition having an overhang shape surrounding the pixel aperture;
- forming a display element overlapping the pixel aperture;
- and
- cutting the substrate along the cut line.
