A light-emitting device includes a semiconductor stack, an insulating material stack, an opening formed in the insulating material stack, and an electrode located on the insulating material stack and filled in the opening to electrically connect to the semiconductor stack. The semiconductor stack includes a main surface, and a side surface inclined to the main surface. The material stack includes a first stack and a second stack. The first stack includes a plurality of first insulating pairs, and covers the main surface without covering the side surface. The second stack includes a plurality of second insulating pairs, and covers the side surface. One of the first insulating pairs has a first average thickness on the main surface, and one of the second insulating pairs has a second average thickness on the side surface, and the second average thickness is different from the first average thickness.
