Concatenating on-demand ssb in half frame

A method of a user equipment (UE) in a wireless communication system, the method comprising:

• receiving a set of higher layer parameters, the set of higher layer parameters including a time offset, a first configuration for a first synchronization signals block (SSB), and a second configuration for a second SSB;
• determining, based on the first configuration, a first set of candidate SSB occasions in a half frame for the first SSB;
• determining, based on the second configuration, a second set of candidate SSB occasions in the half frame for the second SSB, wherein the second set of candidate SSB occasions occurs after the first set of candidate SSB occasions with respect to the time offset;
• and
• receiving a SSB based on the first and second sets of candidate SSB occasions.

A base station (BS) in a wireless communication system, the BS comprising:

• a transceiver configured to transmit a set of higher layer parameters, the set of higher layer parameters including a time offset, a first configuration for a first synchronization signals block (SSB), and a second configuration for a second SSB;
• and
• a processor operably coupled to the transceiver, the processor configured to:
• determine, based on the first configuration, a first set of candidate SSB occasions in a half frame for the first SSB;
• and
• determine, based on the second configuration, a second set of candidate SSB occasions in the half frame for the second SSB,
• wherein the second set of candidate SSB occasions occurs after the first set of candidate SSB occasions with respect to the time offset, and
• wherein the transceiver is further configured to transmit a SSB based on the first and second sets of candidate SSB occasions.
