Abstract
The present disclosure generally relates to traffic steering, and more particularly relates to traffic steering for an airplane network. In some embodiments, a system may include: a router configured to: (i) tag traffic received via a vehicle network, and (ii) send the tagged traffic to a satellite terminal (STE) modem. The system may further include the STE modem, which may include: (i) a first data access point name (APN) configured to route first traffic to a nearest internet gateway based on a first tag of the first traffic, and (ii) a second APN configured to route second traffic to a datacenter based on a second tag of the second traffic.
Claims20
A method, comprising:
- receiving first traffic with a first tag indicating that the first traffic is not associated with a geolocation requirement;
- receiving second traffic with a second tag indicating that the second traffic is associated with the geolocation requirement;
- routing the first traffic to an internet gateway in accordance with the first tag indicating that the first traffic is not associated with the geolocation requirement, wherein the internet gateway is based at least in part on a current location of a vehicle;
- and
- routing the second traffic to a datacenter in accordance with the second tag indicating that the second traffic is associated with the geolocation requirement.
A system, comprising:
- a satellite terminal (STE) modem configured to:
- receive first traffic with a first tag indicating that the first traffic is not associated with a geolocation requirement;
- receive second traffic with a second tag indicating that the second traffic is associated with the geolocation requirement;
- route the first traffic to an internet gateway in accordance with the first tag indicating that the first traffic is not associated with the geolocation requirement, wherein the internet gateway is based at least in part on a current location of a vehicle;
- and
- route the second traffic to a datacenter in accordance with the second tag indicating that the second traffic is associated with the geolocation requirement.
A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing code comprising instructions which, when executed by one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to:
- receive first traffic with a first tag indicating that the first traffic is not associated with a geolocation requirement;
- receive second traffic with a second tag indicating that the second traffic is associated with the geolocation requirement;
- route the first traffic to an internet gateway in accordance with the first tag indicating that the first traffic is not associated with the geolocation requirement, wherein the internet gateway is based at least in part on a current location of a vehicle;
- and
- route the second traffic to a datacenter in accordance with the second tag indicating that the second traffic is associated with the geolocation requirement.
