Abstract
A wireless communication method for network energy saving. A user equipment (UE) receives a network energy saving (NES) barring information from a base station. The UE searches for and camps on a cell based on received network energy saving (NES) barring information. The NES barring information comprises at least one bit and indicates whether one or more user equipments (UEs) are permitted to camp on the NES cell. The NES barring information is used for cell selection/reselection based on UE capabilities.
Claims33
A wireless communication method for network energy saving, executable by a user equipment (UE), comprising:
- receiving network energy saving (NES) barring information;
- camping on a cell based on received NES barring information;
- wherein the NES barring information comprises at least one bit and indicates whether one or more user equipments (UEs) are permitted to camp on an NES cell;
- and
- the NES barring information is used for cell selection based on UE capability;
- the method further comprises:
- operating data transmission and reception on active periods within an NES cell according to at least one of cell discontinuous transmission (DTX) period or discontinuous reception (DRX) period.

A user equipment (UE) comprising:
- a memory;
- a transceiver;
- and
- a processor configured to execute steps of:
- receiving network energy saving (NES) barring information;
- camping on a cell based on received NES barring information;
- wherein the NES barring information comprises at least one bit and indicates whether one or more user equipments (UEs) are permitted to camp on an NES cell;
- and
- the NES barring information is used for cell selection based on UE capability;
- the method further comprises:
- operating data transmission and reception on active periods within an NES cell according to at least one of cell discontinuous transmission (DTX) period or discontinuous reception (DRX) period.

A wireless communication method for network energy saving, executable by a base station, comprising:
- transmitting network energy saving (NES) barring information;
- wherein the NES barring information comprises at least one bit and indicates whether one or more user equipments (UEs) are permitted to camp on an NES cell;
- and
- the NES barring information is used for cell selection based on UE capability;
- wherein the method further comprises:
