Method and apparatus for transmitting information related to expected data volume during data burst transmission in wireless communication system

A user equipment (UE) comprising:

• at least one processor;
• and
• at least one computer memory storing instructions that, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the UE to perform operations comprising:
• starting a data burst period;
• receiving an uplink (UL) grant;
• generating a Medium Access Control (MAC) Protocol Data Unit (PDU) including at least one MAC Service Data Unit (SDU) based on the uplink grant,
• wherein, based on there being no more SDU to be transmitted and based on the data burst period being considered to be on-going, the MAC PDU includes zero Buffer Size (BS) information and information indicating that the data burst period is on-going;
• and
• transmitting the MAC PDU on the UL grant.

A non-transitory computer readable storage medium comprising program instructions that, when executed by at least one processor, cause a user equipment (UE) to perform operations comprising:

• starting a data burst period;
• receiving an uplink (UL) grant;
• generating a Medium Access Control (MAC) Protocol Data Unit (PDU) including at least one MAC Service Data Unit (SDU) based on the uplink grant,
• wherein, based on there being no more SDU to be transmitted and based on the data burst period being considered to be on-going, the MAC PDU includes zero Buffer Size (BS) information and information indicating that the data burst period is on-going;
• and
• transmitting the MAC PDU on the UL grant.
