Abstract
Methods and systems are described for media guidance and content recommendation management. When a system identifies a content item that is to be recommended but that will become available at a future time, the system identifies another content based on the first content item. The system may then generate for display a combined user interface recommendation that indicates the first content item and the future time it will become available and also indicates the second content item for current consumption. The system may identify the first content item based on an expiration date of a content provider subscription that is associated with a user profile.

A method comprising:
- identifying, by at least one network server, based at least in part on a user profile, a first content item to be recommended that is unavailable, until a future date, for delivery to one or more devices associated with the user profile;
- identifying, based at least in part on metadata for the first content item, a second content item that is both:
- (a) related to the first content item, and (b) currently available for delivery to the one or more devices associated with the user profile;
- and
- generating for display, at the one or more devices associated with the user profile, a combined user interface recommendation, wherein the combined user interface recommendation comprises:
- (a) an indication of the first content item, (b) an indication that the first content item will be available on the future date, and (c) an indication of the second content item for current consumption.
A system comprising:
- a memory;
- and
- control circuitry of at least one network server configured to:
- identify, based at least in part on a user profile, a first content item to be recommended that is unavailable, until a future date, for delivery to one or more devices associated with the user profile, and to store in the memory an identification of the first content item;
- identify, based at least in part on metadata for the first content item, a second content item that is both:
- (a) related to the first content item, and (b) currently available for delivery to the one or more devices associated with the user profile;
- and
- generate for display, at the one or more devices associated with the user profile, a combined user interface recommendation, wherein the combined user interface recommendation comprises:
- (a) an indication of the first content item, (b) an indication that the first content item will be available on the future date, and (c) an indication of the second content item for current consumption.
