Abstract
An image forming apparatus includes a hardware processor, wherein the hardware processor sets a type of a recording medium, detects the type of a recording medium on which an image is to be formed, determines, in a first mode, an image formation condition based on the set type, and determines, in a second mode, the image forming condition based on the detected type, sets a work mode to either the first mode or the second mode, and in a case of, with the first mode being set, a specific state where the set type is different from the detected type, prompts switching of the work mode.
Claims20
An image forming apparatus comprising a hardware processor, wherein
- the hardware processor
- sets a type of a recording medium,
- detects the type of a recording medium on which an image is to be formed,
- determines, in a first mode, an image formation condition based on the set type, and determines, in a second mode, the image forming condition based on the detected type,
- sets a work mode to either the first mode or the second mode, and
- in a case of, with the first mode being set, a specific state where the set type is different from the detected type, prompts switching of the work mode.
A setting assistance method including:
- a type setting step of setting a type of a recording medium;
- a detecting step of detecting the type of a recording medium on which an image is to be formed;
- an image forming condition determining step of determining an image forming condition based on the type set in the type setting step in a first mode, and determining an image forming condition based on the type detected in the detecting step in a second mode;
- a mode setting step of setting a work mode to either the first mode or the second mode;
- and
- a notifying step of prompting switching of the work mode in a case of, with the first mode being set, a specific state where the type set in the type setting step is different from the type detected in the detecting step.
A computer-readable recording medium encoded with a setting assistance program that causes a computer controlling an image forming apparatus to execute:
- a type setting step of setting a type of a recording medium;
- a detecting step of detecting the type of a recording medium on which an image is to be formed;
- an image forming condition determining step of determining an image forming condition based on the type set in the type setting step in a first mode, and determining an image forming condition based on the type detected in the detecting step in a second mode;
- a mode setting step of setting a work mode to either the first mode or the second mode;
- and
- a notifying step of prompting switching of the work mode in a case of, with the first mode being set, a specific state where the type set in the type setting step is different from the type detected in the detecting step.
