Electronic device including structure for reducing damage to flexible display

A foldable electronic device comprising:

• a flexible display including:
• a first region,
• a second region spaced apart from the first region, and
• a bending region disposed between the first region and the second region, the bending region being configured to be bent in a folded state of the foldable electronic device;
• a support plate including a recess facing the bending region, the support plate providing a space for the bending region when moved according to a change from an unfolded state of the foldable electronic device to the folded state;
• an elastic member disposed between the bending region and the support plate, the elastic member being attached to the recess, the elastic member in the folded state being configured to be depressed by the bending region disposed within the space;
• and
• a coating layer attached to the flexible display, the coating layer being at least partially disposed between the bending region and the elastic member,
• wherein the coating layer is spaced apart from the elastic member in the unfolded state, and
• wherein the coating layer is in contact with the elastic member in the folded state.
