Application identification for traffic flow prioritization

A method for wireless communication by a wireless communication device, comprising:

• receiving a traffic flow of a plurality of traffic flows for an application,
• wherein the traffic flow is associated with a network flow identification (NFID), and
• wherein each traffic flow of the plurality of traffic flows is associated with an application identification (APPID) associating the traffic flow to the application;
• and
• providing the traffic flow via a prioritized network queue, wherein at least one traffic flow associated with the APPID is associated with a prioritized status NFID.

An application client device, comprising:

• a processing system that includes one or more processors and one or more memories coupled with the one or more processors, the processing system configured to cause the application client device to:
• provide a traffic flow of a plurality of traffic flows for an application to a network device, wherein the traffic flow is associated with a network flow identification (NFID),
• receive an application identification (APPID) for the traffic flow from the network device, wherein the APPID associates the traffic flow to the application;
• and
• provide the plurality of traffic flows for the application with the APPID to the network device.
