Abstract
In one embodiment, a system for managing power consumption in a node interconnect network includes a plurality of nodes interconnected via a network, and an orchestrator to analyze link requirements, configure dynamic routing profiles for the plurality of nodes based on the link requirements, and instruct the plurality of nodes to implement the dynamic routing profiles, wherein each one node of the plurality of nodes is to selectively route traffic to a subset of available ports of the one node based on a dynamic routing profile of the one node, thereby allowing unused ports to enter a low-power state.
Claims22
A system for managing power consumption in a node interconnect network, comprising:
- a plurality of nodes interconnected via a network;
- and
- an orchestrator to:
- analyze link requirements;
- configure dynamic routing profiles for the plurality of nodes based on the link requirements;
- and
- instruct the plurality of nodes to implement the dynamic routing profiles, wherein each one node of the plurality of nodes is to selectively route traffic to a subset of available ports of the one node based on a dynamic routing profile of the one node, thereby allowing unused ports to enter a low-power state.
An orchestrator for managing power consumption in a node interconnect network, comprising:
- a processor to:
- analyze link requirements in a network interconnecting a plurality of nodes;
- configure dynamic routing profiles for the plurality of nodes based on the link requirements;
- and
- instruct the plurality of nodes to implement the dynamic routing profiles, wherein the dynamic routing profiles cause each node to selectively route traffic to a subset of available ports, thereby allowing unused ports to enter a low-power state;
- and
- an interface to share data with the nodes.
A node device, comprising:
- a plurality of ports to connect to links of a network;
- a routing device to route network traffic to the plurality of ports;
- and
- a processor to configure the routing device to selectively route traffic to a subset of the plurality of ports, thereby allowing unused ports to enter a low-power state.
