An apparatus including a reflective-mode, tunable filter receiving an input signal and outputting an outputting a filtered signal. The input signal includes an interferer signal. The filtered signal is the interferer signal being attenuated, or is free of the interferer signal. The reflective-mode, tunable filter includes a quadrature hybrid coupler receiving the input signal and outputting the filtered signal. The quadrature hybrid coupler includes two port arms. The reflective-mode, tunable filter includes tunable bandpass filters receiving respective 90°-out-of-phase signals based on the input signal one of directly and indirectly from the two port arms. The tunable bandpass filters include a first tunable bandpass filter and a second tunable bandpass filter. The reflective-mode, tunable filter includes matching loads. The tunable bandpass filters pass the interferer signal to the matching loads. The matching loads dissipate the interferer signal such that the reflective-mode tunable filter has an absorptive band-stop response.
