Abstract
A method for operating a motor of a domestic appliance is provided. The method includes obtaining a target signal for the motor. The method also includes obtaining a feedback measurement of a component of the domestic appliance. Further, the method includes in response to the feedback measurement exceeding a threshold, determining an upper limit based, at least in part, on a difference between the threshold and the feedback measurement. Furthermore, the method includes limiting the target signal by the upper limit. In addition, the method includes controlling the motor based on the limited target signal.
Claims20
A method for operating a motor of a domestic appliance, the method comprising:
- obtaining a target signal for the motor;
- obtaining a feedback measurement of a component of the domestic appliance;
- in response to the feedback measurement exceeding a threshold, determining an upper limit based, at least in part, on a difference between the threshold and the feedback measurement;
- limiting the target signal by the upper limit;
- and
- controlling the motor based on the limited target signal.
A motor assembly comprising:
- a motor;
- an inverter electrically coupled to an alternating current power supply and the motor;
- and
- a controller in operative communication with the inverter, the controller configured to perform operations for controlling the motor, wherein the operations comprise:
- obtaining a target signal for the motor;
- obtaining a feedback measurement of a domestic appliance component;
- in response to the feedback measurement exceeding a threshold, determining an upper limit based, at least in part, on a difference between the threshold and the feedback measurement;
- limiting the target signal by the upper limit;
- and
- controlling the motor based on the limited target signal.
