Systems and methods for configurable solid state power controllers

A method for converting operation of solid state power controllers into a single output solid state power controller, the method comprising:

• analyzing loads of a first solid state power controller and a second solid state power controller at a power distribution unit, each solid state power controller having a corresponding output and current rating, the first and second solid state power controllers being operatively coupled to a control circuit configured to control switching of the first and second solid state power controllers;
• defining a current rating for the single output solid state power controller;
• updating a configuration table identifying each of the first and second solid state power controllers, the configuration table being updated to identify and define a single output solid state power controller with an output at an output connector and with a single output current rating;
• selecting an output connector for the single output current rating;
• and
• operatively coupling the outputs of the first and second solid state power controllers to the output connector.
