Abstract

The invention relates to a pyrotechnic battery disconnect system (1) having an electric high-voltage battery (2) with a low side at low-voltage potential (LV) and a high side at high-voltage potential (HV), a pyro fuse (4) for electrically disconnecting the high-voltage battery (2), wherein the pyro fuse (4) is connected in series with the high-voltage battery (2) and is arranged on the high side of the high-voltage battery (2) such that the pyro fuse (4) is at the high-voltage potential (HV), and having a control circuit (7) with a trip output for tripping the pyro fuse (4), wherein the pyro fuse (3) cuts off the high-voltage battery (2) upon tripping.
