Abstract
A connector according to an embodiment is connectable to an adapter along a first direction and detachable from the adapter by being pulled in a second direction opposite to the first direction. The boot is restricted from movement relative to the second housing in the second direction by the protruding portion entering the recessed portion when the boot is rotated relative to the second housing in a first rotation direction. The boot becomes movable relative to the second housing in the second direction by the protruding portion coming out of the recessed portion when the boot is rotated relative to the second housing in a second rotation direction opposite to the first rotation direction.
Claims7
A connector connectable to an adapter along a first direction and detachable from the adapter by being pulled in a second direction opposite to the first direction, the connector comprising:
- a first housing;
- a second housing located inside the first housing and having an end portion in the second direction, the end portion protruding from the first housing;
- a boot extending from the second housing in the second direction;
- and
- a connecting component fixed to the first housing and configured to connect the boot to the first housing,
- wherein the boot is rotatable relative to the second housing about an axis extending along the first direction,
- wherein the boot has a first portion that is either a protruding portion protruding in a direction away from the axis or a recessed portion which the protruding portion enters,
- wherein the second housing has a second portion that is the protruding portion when the first portion is the recessed portion and is the recessed portion when the first portion is the protruding portion,
- wherein the boot is configured to be restricted from movement relative to the second housing in the second direction by the protruding portion entering the recessed portion when the boot is rotated relative to the second housing in a first rotation direction, and
- wherein the boot is configured to become movable relative to the second housing in the second direction by the protruding portion coming out of the recessed portion when the boot is rotated relative to the second housing in a second rotation direction opposite to the first rotation direction.
