Cable connector and connector assembly with improved structural strength

A connector assembly, comprising:

• a cable connector comprising:
• an accommodating housing defining a receiving space;
• a cable module being at least partially received in the receiving space, the cable module comprising a cable block, a metal shield enclosure at least partially sleeved on the cable block, and a fixing block;
• the cable block comprising a plurality of cable terminals;
• and
• a first retaining bar inserted into the accommodating housing and abutting against the cable module so as to prevent the cable module from disengaging from the accommodating housing;
• and
• an electrical connector configured to mate with the cable connector, the electrical connector comprising:
• a mounting frame, the mounting frame being a conductive mounting frame and defining a mounting space;
• a shielding assembly, the shielding assembly being at least partially disposed in the mounting space;
• the shielding assembly being in contact with the mounting frame;
• the shielding assembly comprising a first shielding plate assembly, a second shielding plate assembly, a third shielding plate assembly and a fourth shielding plate assembly;
• the first shielding plate assembly and the second shielding plate assembly being disposed at intervals in a second direction;
• the third shielding plate assembly and the fourth shielding plate assembly being disposed at intervals in a third direction;
• the first shielding plate assembly and the second shielding plate assembly being interposed with the third shielding plate assembly and the fourth shielding plate assembly to form a plurality of shielding units;
• each shielding unit defining an accommodating space extending in a first direction;
• each two of the first direction, the second direction and the third direction being perpendicular to each other;
• and
• a terminal module, the terminal module is received in the accommodating space;
• the terminal module comprising an insulating block, a plurality of conductive terminals secured to the insulating block;
• wherein the cable module of the cable connector is at least partially inserted into the accommodating space;
• the metal shield enclosure of the cable connector is in contact with the shielding assembly;
• and the cable terminals of the cable connector are in contact with the conductive terminals of the electrical connector.
