Abstract
A battery module includes battery cells and bus bars electrically connecting the battery cells. Each of the bus bars include a first conductor and a second conductor connected to two adjacent battery cells, and a connecting portion electrically connecting the first conductor to the second conductor. An end of the first conductor and an end of the second conductor each include a first magnet, opposite ends of the connecting portion are attached by the first magnet, and a metal layer is on a surface of the first magnet.

A battery module comprising:
- a plurality of battery cells;
- and
- a plurality of bus bars electrically connecting the plurality of battery cells,
- wherein each bus bar of the plurality of bus bars comprises a first conductor and a second conductor connected to two adjacent battery cells of the plurality of battery cells, and a connecting portion electrically connecting the first conductor to the second conductor,
- wherein an end of the first conductor and an end of the second conductor each comprise a first magnet,
- wherein opposite ends of the connecting portion are each attached by the first magnet, and
- wherein a metal layer is on a surface of the first magnet.

- at least two adjacent battery cells;
- a bus bar electrically connecting the at least two adjacent battery cells;
- and
- a basket below the bus bar, the basket having a concave seat portion,
- wherein the bus bar comprises a first conductor and a second conductor connected to the at least two adjacent battery cells, and a connecting portion electrically connecting the first conductor to the second conductor,
- wherein an end of the first conductor and an end of the second conductor each comprise a first magnet,
- wherein opposite ends of the connecting portion are each attached by the first magnet, and
- wherein the connecting portion is configured to fall into the basket in response to the first magnet losing a magnetic force at least a certain temperature.
