Abstract

A battery cell includes a housing, a pressure relief mechanism, an electrode assembly, and a separator. The housing has a first wall. The pressure relief mechanism is provided on the housing. The electrode assembly is provided in the housing. The separator is provided between the electrode assembly and the first wall, the separator is configured to separate the electrode assembly and the first wall, and the separator is provided with an exhaust passage. The exhaust passage is configured to guide gas in the battery cell to the pressure relief mechanism. The separator includes a first portion and a second portion. A melting point of the first portion is higher than a melting point of the second portion. At least a portion of the exhaust channel is defined by the first portion.
