Abstract
A cathode material for an electrochemical cell has a cation disordered composition comprising a spinel crystal structure and a formula: wherein 0.0≤x≤0.25, 0.01≤y≤0.49, 0.01≤z≤0.49, 0.02≤y+z≤0.5, and A and B are different and independently selected from Y, Zr, Si, V, Nb, Fe, Cu, Ti, and Al.
