Abstract
Described herein are multichannel mass spectrometry devices and methods of using said devices. In some cases, the devices and methods include analyzing overlapping mass windows.
Claims20
An apparatus for mass spectrometry, the apparatus comprising:
- an ion source;
- an ion splitter, the ion splitter configured to receive an ion flux from the ion source and split the ion flux between two or more ion beam paths, wherein:
- (i) the ion splitter comprises a split ion funnel;
- or
- (ii) ions are transmitted through the ion splitter to the two or more ion beam paths at substantially the same time;
- a first mass analyzer disposed along a first of the two or more ion beam paths;
- and
- a second mass analyzer disposed along a second of the two or more ion beam paths,
- wherein the ion splitter is disposed between (i) the ion source and (ii) the first mass analyzer and the second mass analyzer, and
- wherein the first mass analyzer and the second mass analyzer are each configured to receive a portion of the ion flux from the ion splitter.
