Abstract
A breaker lockout device for a circuit breaker is provided. The breaker lockout device includes a body positionable on the circuit breaker when a toggle of the circuit breaker is in an OFF position and a first securing mechanism to engage the body with the circuit breaker. The breaker lockout device further includes a second securing mechanism to lock the toggle in the OFF position. The breaker lockout device further includes a pivoting clamping member within the body, configured to adjust to the toggle's angle and engage a lower surface of the toggle with full-surface contact during locking.

A breaker lockout device comprising:
- a body positionable on a circuit breaker when a toggle of the circuit breaker is in an OFF position;
- a first securing mechanism to engage the body with the circuit breaker;
- a second securing mechanism to lock the toggle in the OFF position;
- and
- a pivoting clamping member within the body, configured to adjust to the toggle's angle and engage a lower surface of the toggle with full-surface contact during locking.
