Abstract
A semiconductor device that can realize preferable temperature control, and a control method thereof are provided. A semiconductor device that is operable based on a signal from an external device includes, on a chip, a memory cell array, a temperature sensor configured to detect a temperature in the semiconductor device, and a temperature control circuit. The temperature control circuit is configured to control signal processing for operating the memory cell array so as to reduce heat generation by the semiconductor device based on the temperature detected by the temperature sensor.

A semiconductor device that is operable based on a signal from an external device, the semiconductor device comprising, on a chip:
- a memory cell array;
- a temperature sensor configured to detect a temperature in the semiconductor device;
- and
- a temperature control circuit configured to control signal processing for operating the memory cell array so as to reduce heat generation by the semiconductor device based on the temperature detected by the temperature sensor.
A control method of a semiconductor device that is operable based on a signal from an external device and includes a memory cell array, a temperature sensor, and a temperature control circuit on a chip, the control method comprising:
- detecting a temperature in the semiconductor device with the temperature sensor;
- and
- controlling, with the temperature control circuit, signal processing for operating the memory cell array so as to reduce heat generation by the semiconductor device based on the detected temperature.
