Face authentication method

A face authentication system comprising:

• at least one memory storing processing instructions:
• and
• at least one processor configured to execute the processing instructions to:
• register, as user information, a feature amount of a face image of a user, and a name, contact information, and settlement information of the user;
• extract a plurality of face images from a captured image;
• determine whether or not a first person corresponding to a first face image among the plurality of face images, which correspond to a plurality of persons including the first person and a second person accompanying the first person, satisfies an exclusion condition of a face authentication process;
• exclude the first face image of the first person satisfying the exclusion condition;
• and
• perform the face authentication process on a second face image corresponding to the second person among the plurality of face images, wherein:
• the face authentication process includes:
• calculating a feature amount of the second face image;
• calculating a similarity between the feature amount of the second face image and the feature amount of the face image of the user registered in the registering;
• and
• authenticating, based on the similarity, whether or not the second person corresponding to the second face image is the user;
• the face authentication process is performed after excluding, from the plurality of face images simultaneously extracted from the captured image, the first face image of the first person satisfying the exclusion condition;
• and
• the at least one processor is configured to further execute the processing instructions to, when the face authentication process succeeds, transmit a command permitting the second person to use a predetermined service.

A non-transitory computer-readable recording medium on which a program is recorded, the program comprising instructions for causing an information processing apparatus to execute processes to:

• register, as user information, a feature amount of a face image of a user, and a name, contact information, and settlement information of the user;
• extract a plurality of face images from a captured image;
• determine whether or not a first person corresponding to a first face image among the plurality of face images, which correspond to a plurality of persons including the first person and a second person accompanying the first person, satisfies an exclusion condition of a face authentication process;
• exclude the first face image of the first person satisfying the exclusion condition;
• and
• perform the face authentication process on a second face image corresponding to the second person among the plurality of face images, wherein:
• the face authentication process includes:
• calculating a feature amount of the second face image;
• calculating a similarity between the feature amount of the second face image and the feature amount of the face image of the user registered in the registering;
• and
• authenticating, based on the similarity, whether or not the second person corresponding to the second face image is the user;
• and
• the face authentication process is performed after excluding, from the plurality of face images simultaneously extracted from the captured image, the first face image of the first person satisfying the exclusion condition,
• the program further comprising instructions for causing the information processing apparatus to execute processes to, when the face authentication process succeeds, transmit a command permitting the second person to use a predetermined service.
