Abstract

A determination apparatus includes: a first acquisition unit that acquires a first caption corresponding to each of a plurality of first images obtained by capturing a monitoring area in a normal state in which no abnormality has occurred; a second acquisition unit that acquires a second caption corresponding to a second image obtained by capturing the monitoring area after the plurality of first images have been captured; a calculation unit that calculates degrees of matching between each of the plurality of first captions and the second caption by inputting the plurality of acquired first captions and the acquired second caption into a model that calculates a degree of matching between captions; and a determination unit that determines that an abnormality has occurred in the monitoring area when all of the plurality of calculated degrees of matching are less than a threshold value.
