Dynamic non-uniform mesh generation for efficient virtual reality frame generation

A method comprising:

• receiving, by at least one processor of an electronic device, contents to be displayed on a display;
• receiving, by the at least one processor, eye-tracking data from an eye-tracking sensor and lens field of view (FOV) data from a memory of the electronic device;
• generating, by the at least one processor, a mesh using the eye-tracking data and the lens FOV data, wherein the mesh includes a high density area and a low density area, defined based at least partly on the lens FOV data;
• performing, by the at least one processor, warping of the contents using the mesh;
• and
• rendering, by the at least one processor, the contents based on the warping of the contents.

A non-transitory machine-readable medium containing instructions that when executed cause at least one processor of an electronic device to:

• receive contents to be displayed on a display;
• receive eye-tracking data from an eye-tracking sensor and lens field of view (FOV) data from a memory;
• generate a mesh using the eye-tracking data and the lens FOV data, wherein the mesh includes a high density area and a low density area, defined based at least partly on the lens FOV data;
• perform warping of the contents using the mesh;
• and
• render the contents based on the warping of the contents.
