Transaction Exchange Platform with Messaging and Watchdog Microservices

A computer-implemented method comprising:

• retrieving, from a streaming data platform and by a pause microservice configured to pause processing of transaction objects and maintain a record of paused transaction objects, a first plurality of transaction objects, wherein the first plurality of transaction objects comprises a transaction object with a request to pause;
• adding, by the pause microservice, the transaction object to the streaming data platform with an acknowledgement indicating that processing of the transaction object has been paused;
• retrieving, from the streaming data platform and by a watchdog microservice configured to track transaction objects being processed by the streaming data platform, a second plurality of transaction objects, wherein the second plurality of transaction objects comprises the transaction object with an indication that processing of the transaction object has been paused;
• and
• based on a determination that the transaction object remains paused, generating, by the watchdog microservice, an alert indicating that the transaction object remains paused.
