Disclosed are various embodiments for minimizing transaction fraud risks by using biometric data to confirm an identity of a user engaging in a transaction. In various examples, biometric data (e.g., fingerprint, retina scan, iris scan, handprint, voice sample, face scan, user gesture, etc.) can be captured at the time of a transaction and transmitted to the issuer when requesting a transaction authorization. The issuer can analyze the biometric data during the risk decisioning process for authorizing a transaction. For example, the biometric data captured at the time of the transaction can be compared with stored biometric data associated with the user of the user account. If the biometric data fails to match the stored biometric data, the authorization may be denied.
