Verifying a Trusted Entity's Identification Via Proximity-Based Data

A computing device, comprising:

• a processor;
• and
• memory-storing instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the computing device to:
• send, by a server to a first electronic device based on receiving authentication credentials for an account associated with a first user of the first electronic device, a secondary authentication option to perform as a part of a multifactor authentication (MFA) process associated with the account;
• send, by the server to a second electronic device based on first user input confirming the secondary authentication option, a message indicating a request for a second user to verify an identity of the first user;
• receive, by the server from the second electronic device, an indication of a physical interaction between the first electronic device and the second electronic device;
• and
• grant, by the server and based on the indication of the physical interaction between the first electronic device and the second electronic device, access to the account associated with the first user.

One or more non-transitory computer-readable medium, storing instructions that, when executed, cause:

• sending, by a server to a first electronic device based on receiving authentication credentials for an account associated with a first user of the first electronic device, a secondary authentication option to perform as a part of a multifactor authentication (MFA) process associated with the account;
• sending, by the server to a second electronic device based on first user input confirming the secondary authentication option, a message indicating a request for a second user to verify an identity of the first user;
• receiving, by the server from the second electronic device, an indication of a physical interaction between the first electronic device and the second electronic device;
• and
• granting, by the server and based on the indication of the physical interaction between the first electronic device and the second electronic device, access to the account associated with the first user.
