Organization entity provisioning for a communication platform

An apparatus for data processing, comprising:

• one or more memories storing processor-executable code;
• and
• one or more processors coupled with the one or more memories and individually or collectively operable to execute the code to cause the apparatus to:
• receive first user input to create a first object within an instance of a communication management application associated with a plurality of business units, wherein each business unit corresponds to a respective partition of a cloud data storage system that is accessible to the instance of the communication management application, and wherein each respective partition is configured to store data associated with a respective set of user entities associated with a corresponding business unit of the plurality of business units;
• receive second user input that indicates a first business unit of the plurality of business units to assign to the first object, wherein the first business unit corresponds to a first partition of the cloud data storage system;
• configure the first object, based at least in part on the second user input, to utilize data from the first partition that corresponds to the first business unit;
• receive third user input to create a second object within the instance of the communication management application and as a child object of the first object;
• configure the second object, based at least in part on the third user input to create the second object as the child object of the first object, to utilize the data from the first partition that corresponds to the first business unit;
• and
• transmit one or more electronic communications to a user entity associated with the first business unit based at least in part on the first object and the second object, wherein the one or more electronic communications are transmitted in accordance with the data stored in the first partition that corresponds to the first business unit based at least in part on configuring the second object to utilize the data from the first partition.

A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing code for data processing, the code comprising instructions executable by one or more processors to:

• receive first user input to create a first object within an instance of a communication management application associated with a plurality of business units, wherein each business unit corresponds to a respective partition of a cloud data storage system that is accessible to the instance of the communication management application, and wherein each respective partition is configured to store data associated with a respective set of user entities associated with a corresponding business unit of the plurality of business units;
• receive second user input that indicates a first business unit of the plurality of business units to assign to the first object, wherein the first business unit corresponds to a first partition of the cloud data storage system;
• configure the first object, based at least in part on the second user input, to utilize data from the first partition that corresponds to the first business unit;
• receive third user input to create a second object within the instance of the communication management application and as a child object of the first object;
• configure the second object, based at least in part on the third user input to create the second object as the child object of the first object, to utilize the data from the first partition that corresponds to the first business unit;
• and
• transmit one or more electronic communications to a user entity associated with the first business unit based at least in part on the first object and the second object, wherein the one or more electronic communications are transmitted in accordance with the data stored in the first partition that corresponds to the first business unit based at least in part on configuring the second object to utilize the data from the first partition.
